yeah, like adam said:

Sorry Johnsons, we're going to break the tradition. Adam's dad told us we're out of the family, but he quickly welcomed us back in.

Also, the Chinese got it wrong.

(so did I)

But, dealing with girl hair (terrifying) aside, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Here are some pictures:

#1 - This is a picture of HER foot beating against my insides.

#2 - This is a blob. I think it might be an arm?

#3 - Aaaaand this is a baby frog girl. It appears to me as though she's got a Johnson chin going on.

4 - This is either an alligator eating its way out of my womb, or it's an arm. Look carefully, there is a long arm bone, then a bend for the elbow, a short arm bone annnnnd FINGERS! I love baby hands.

5 - This is a lizard skeleton.

The doc said everything looks good. It appears everything is there that's supposed to be. The placenta is hanging out pretty low, but he said most of the time the baby pulls it up (baby weight lifting?) but they'll check me at 30 weeks to make sure that's happened. If not . . . my plans for a natural hypnobirth may be in jeopardy. So everyone cheer on my placental movement! Go sack of nutritious goo, mooooove moooove!

Baby is also currently breech, but yeah. Early.

I'll take healthy though. That makes me happy.

Also, girl clothes are infinitely cuter than boy. And I CAN GO PICK OUT FABRIC NOW. I know what I want. And now I don't have to change because it's a boy. Thank you baby for knowing what's important.

Carry on.

Trend breaker...that's awesome! What if you break all the rules and have ALL girls? If you need help with names, I'm sure Aaron has some brilliant ideas. You might not like the names, but at least they are brilliant names. Congrats and stay healthy!

oh please no. not ALL girls, that may just be too much to handle!

Yay! Congratulations Becki! I'm excited for you.

Becki, you are hilarious! Your daughter doesn't have to have the cutest hair ;) Hopefully she'll be like Sophie and throw a fit half the time about you touching her hair and you can blame her raggedy hair on her, not your lack of skill ;) Most of the time, Sophie is a little mop head and we throw on a hat. Haha!

COngrats lady! I was hedging my bet on you having a girl; glad I guessed right! I come from a family of mostly girls (as you well know), and I think you're going to do JUST fine. Girls are the greatest!!!

Um? What is hypnobirthing? Are you serious?

Becki said...

very serious. go to hypnobabies.com and read about it (because I'm actually planning to do hypnobabies, not hypnobirthing and apparently there is a difference).

Anyway, it's just supposed to be a pain management technique and I've heard good thing after good thing after good thing about it. Even at the birth conference at work where no one agreed on anything (we had an OB, DO, midwife, doula, nurse, etc speak about birth) everyone agreed that hypnobirths (or i guess hypnobaby births) went the best.
